Privacy Policy

Who we are

Laifline is developed by Othmane Mdidet. Laifline ("Laifline", "we", "us") is an iPhone app that runs open AI models entirely on your device. This policy covers the Laifline app and this website. If you have a question, write to me@othmne.cc.

What stays on your iPhone

Everything you create in Laifline is stored only on your iPhone, in the app's private storage. We never receive it. That includes:

• Conversations with Laifline and with your assistants.
• Assistants you create, with their names and descriptions.
• Your name, if you choose to add one, used only to greet you.
• Your profile picture: one of the built-in paintings, or a photo you pick.
• Photos you add to a chat, saved as small copies so the conversation can refer to them.
• Settings such as reasoning, temperature and context size.
• A device ID: a random code created on your iPhone and shown in Account. It is never sent anywhere.
• Downloaded models, which are large files kept out of your iCloud backup.

Your conversations and settings may be included in your own iPhone backups (iCloud or your computer), which Apple protects under its own terms. Laifline itself never uploads them.

Model downloads from Hugging Face

To chat, Laifline needs a model. Before the first download, Laifline asks for your permission. When you download a model, your iPhone connects directly to huggingface.co, where the model is published, and downloads its files.

Like any website, Hugging Face receives the technical details of that request: your IP address, the file being downloaded and a simple app identifier ("Laifline-iOS"). Your prompts, conversations, photos and personal details are never sent. Hugging Face handles this information under its own privacy policy.

Downloads use Apple's background download service, so they can continue while Laifline is closed. You can change your consent at any time in Settings → Model downloads.

App update checks

When you open Laifline or return to it while online, the app may request a small release file from othmne.cc/laifline/update-policy.json. It checks the installed version and build against the required release on your iPhone. The request contains no prompts, conversations, photos, name, or local device ID.

Our Cloudflare hosting service receives ordinary connection details, including the IP address and a simple app identifier, to serve the request. We do not add analytics or tracking to these checks. Hosting providers may keep standard security logs.

A failed check does not block first-time offline use. If the app has already confirmed that its installed version requires an update, it keeps that requirement locally until you install a supported release or a later online check disables the requirement. Chats and downloaded models are kept when you update through the App Store.

Photos

When you add a photo to a chat or choose a profile photo, iOS shows its own photo picker. Laifline only receives the photos you pick, not your library.

Notifications

If you turn on gentle reminders, they are scheduled on your iPhone. Laifline can also let you know when a download finishes. There is no notification server.

Live Activities

While a model downloads, Laifline can show its progress on your Lock Screen and in the Dynamic Island. These updates come from the app on your iPhone. You can turn them off in iOS Settings.

This website

This website has no analytics, cookies or trackers. It loads its typefaces from Google Fonts, which receives your IP address under Google's privacy policy. Our hosting provider may keep standard server logs for security.

Sharing and selling

We don't sell, rent or share personal data, because we don't collect it. If you share a reply using the iOS share sheet, it goes only where you send it.

Children

Laifline is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone, of any age.

Your choices

• Erase everything: Settings → Account → Erase everything removes your conversations, assistants, photos and device ID.
• Remove models: delete a single model from its sheet, or all of them from Settings.
• Delete the app to remove all of Laifline's data from your iPhone.

Because we hold no data about you, there is nothing for us to access, correct or delete on our side. If you have a privacy request anyway, we're happy to answer it.

Changes to this policy

If Laifline ever changes how it handles data, we will update this page and the date at the top before the change takes effect. Any significant change will also be explained in the app.
