Terms of Use
The friendly fine print for using Laifline. Please read it once; it's short.
Last updated 23 October 2026In short
- Laifline is offline AI: it runs models on your iPhone, without internet. What you write and what it writes back stay with you.
- AI can be wrong. Check anything important, and don't rely on it for medical, legal or financial decisions.
- Each model is made by its own publisher and comes with its own licence.
- Use Laifline kindly and lawfully.
1. Agreeing to these terms
By downloading or using Laifline (the "app"), you agree to these Terms of Use and to our Privacy Policy. If you got Laifline from the App Store, Apple's Standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies. Where the two differ, these terms add to it but do not limit your rights under it.
2. Using Laifline
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use Laifline on Apple devices you own or control, for your own purposes. You may not copy, resell, or reverse engineer the app except where the law allows it.
Laifline needs no account. Your conversations, assistants and settings live on your device, so keeping them safe (for example, with a backup) is in your hands. If you erase the app's data or delete the app, it cannot be recovered by us.
3. About AI answers
Laifline's replies are generated by AI models running on your iPhone. They can be inaccurate, incomplete, out of date or unexpected, and they do not reflect our views.
- Treat answers as a starting point, not a source of truth. Check important facts yourself.
- Laifline is not a doctor, lawyer, financial adviser or emergency service. Don't use it to make decisions in those areas, and contact a professional or emergency services when you need help.
- Models have no internet access in Laifline, so they don't know about recent events.
You are responsible for how you use what Laifline writes. Content you create with it is yours, to the extent the law allows.
4. Models and third-party content
Laifline doesn't make the AI models it runs. When you choose a model, its files download directly from Hugging Face, from the creator's own page or a well-known community packager. Each model, made by organisations such as Alibaba's Qwen team, Google, Meta, Microsoft and Prism ML, is provided under its own licence and use policy, which you can read on its Hugging Face page. By downloading a model, you agree to follow its licence.
The app is built with open-source software, including llama.cpp (MIT licence), and the Alkatra typeface (SIL Open Font License 1.1).
5. Acceptable use
Please don't use Laifline to:
- break the law or help someone else do so;
- harm, harass, threaten or deceive people, or create content that exploits children;
- create malware or attack systems you don't own;
- breach a model's licence or someone else's rights, including copyright and privacy.
6. Updates and availability
We may update Laifline to improve it, add or remove models, or keep it secure. Models remain available only while their publishers keep them on Hugging Face. We may stop offering the app, but the models already on your iPhone will keep working offline.
7. No warranty and limitation of liability
Laifline is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, to the extent the law allows. We don't promise that it or any model will be error-free, accurate or suited to a particular purpose.
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages, or for loss of data, arising from your use of Laifline or its AI answers. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, or your rights as a consumer where you live.
8. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. We'll change the date at the top, and if the change is significant we'll mention it in the app. Using Laifline after an update means you accept the new terms.
